Project Description

Habitat for Humanity is the project manager for the redevelopment of NYCHA-owned single-family homes in Queens. GRANT was retained by the client to perform a geotechnical investigation which consisted of two test borings per location, soil sample collection, and one percolation test per location. Grant then prepared the geotechnical analysis and recommendations report and signed off the Technical Report 4 (TR-4) forms for construction permitting purposes. GRANT was further retained to prepare structural designs for the thirteen homes. The homes are designed as passive houses, prefabricated and modular. The building structures are wood frame with pre-engineered open web I-joist floors, wood truss roofs and reinforced concrete foundation walls. GRANT prepared structural designs utilizing RAM Elements for analysis and REVIT for drafting. Design including support of excavation.
