Grant Engineering is a New York City engineering firm founded in 2006. We investigate soil and foundations, design and assess structures, monitor construction, and perform the special inspections the Department of Buildings requires.
We work for property owners and managers, co-op and condo boards, architects and other engineers, developers and contractors, national retail and restaurant brands, and attorneys and insurers. Projects range from single-family homes and retail fit-outs to high-rise residential buildings across the five boroughs.
What we do
- Geotechnical investigations and reports. Borings, test pits and the geotechnical report your DOB filing needs.
- Foundation and excavation design. Shallow and deep foundations, underpinning, bench footings and support of excavation, designed for your site and your neighbors.
- Structural design and assessments. New design, alterations, and condition assessments of existing buildings.
- Construction monitoring. Pre-construction surveys and vibration, crack, tilt and optical monitoring during the work.
- TR1 and TR8 special and progress inspections. Structural, foundation, fire-protection, mechanical and energy code inspections by an accredited Class 1 Special Inspection Agency.
- Adjacent property reviews. An engineer on your side when the lot next door is being developed.
- Condition assessments and expert reports. Independent findings for owners, insurers and attorneys.
