Project Description

In March 2016, GRANT was contracted by WestVille Restaurants to provide structural engineering and geotechnical engineering services in support of WestVille’s location in DUMBO, Brooklyn. The new restaurant was to occupy the first floor at 81 Washington St. Substantial changes to occupancy and layout were required to update the space to meet the architects’ vision. GRANT Engineering supported the architect efforts by preparing structural design of slab infills and new steel stairs. Additionally, GRANT performed all structural special inspections required by the structural design and the New York City Building Code. GRANT also supported the architect by helping develop egress paths and update the plans to meet NYCBC egress requirements.
