Project Description

GRANT was contracted to perform Geotechnical Engineering Services, including a subsurface investigation, Atterberg Limit and Moisture Content tests and a Sieve Analysis. Following on from that, GRANT was contracted to perform Foundation Design and Pre-Construction Conditions Assessments of adjacent properties. During construction, GRANT performed both crack and vibration monitoring, in addition to performing all Special and Progress Inspections. The inspections scope included overseeing an array of activities including underpinning, excavation, pile drilling and grouting, structural systems, mechanical systems, safety systems, and energy code compliance. GRANT also inspected several pile load tests. Our structural engineers optimized the project budget by underpinning adjacent structures with helical piles and implementing soldier piles with timber lagging along the sidewalk.
